TAM organized on Sunday 17-11-2013 a workshop concerning violence against woman in Al-Quds Open University activities hall in Jericho under the project of “High Risk”, which is funded by the USAID and performed by the CRS in the program of Civil Society Promotion and Participation “CPP”
Dr.Rateb Abu Rahma, Al-Quds Open University President started the workshop opening session by greeting the audiences, confirming the importance of the selected subjects and the university’s readiness to host the project’s activities in the university’s halls.
The workshop started by acquaintance between participants then, a brain storming activity was given by the workshop facilitator to promote the participants for the workshop’s subject. The workshop also discussed “violence against woman” and its psychological and social effects on woman’s life. It also presented a definition of “violence types against woman” by using some examples. The workshop tackled the ways of prevent violence against woman, in addition to a scientific discussion with the participants through revealing their point of view about violence.
At the end of the workshop the participants assured the importance of holding such workshops, they also made a group of recommendations and the most important recommendation is their role as young people in confronting violence against woman.
